This is a repost from the future

Tomorrow I was going to tell you a joke about time travel but you didn't like it. you didn't get it 2 years from now and you still don't get it.

In the year 2078, time travel has become a reality. Dr. Evelyn Carter, a brilliant scientist, discovers a troubling anomaly in her time travel experiments. An unknown force is manipulating the timeline, and every attempt to correct it only seems to worsen the problem.

Desperate to prevent a catastrophic future, Evelyn decides to travel back to 2023 and stop herself from creating the time travel device. She hopes that by erasing the origin of time travel, she can prevent the anomaly from ever occurring.

In 2023, Evelyn successfully sabotages the research, ensuring the time travel device is never invented. She returns to 2078, only to find that the timeline has changed in unexpected ways. Instead of a time travel anomaly, the future is now dominated by a global war over scarce resources. In a twist of irony, Evelyn's sabotage has led to a worse outcome than before.

Realizing the gravity of her mistake, Evelyn makes a new plan. She travels further back in time, to 2015, to stop her past self from interfering in 2023. She believes that by doing so, she can restore the timeline to its original state and eliminate the anomaly.

However, upon arriving in 2015, Evelyn encounters her previous self—an earlier version of her who is working on the time travel project. The two Evelyns argue, but the earlier one is adamant about continuing the project. The two versions of Evelyn clash, each convinced that their version of the timeline is the correct one.

In a desperate bid to resolve the paradox, the earlier Evelyn agrees to help her future self, but only if they can devise a foolproof plan. They work together, only to find that their combined efforts inadvertently create a new problem: a paradox that threatens to unravel the fabric of time itself.

As the timeline begins to fracture, Evelyn realizes that the only way to fix the situation is to stop all attempts to alter the timeline altogether. She must let the past play out as it was originally intended and accept that some events are beyond her control.

In the end, Evelyn returns to 2078, where she finds a future where time travel was never invented, and the world has evolved without the complications of her earlier attempts. The anomaly is gone, but Evelyn is left with the haunting knowledge that her own efforts to correct the timeline were the very source of the chaos she sought to prevent.

Evelyn's story becomes a cautionary tale about the dangers of meddling with time and the intricate dance of cause and effect—a reminder that sometimes, the best way to prevent a paradox is to leave time itself untouched.
